What happens following my surgery?
Following your biopsy, if needed, your results will be discussed at the Multidisciplinary Team Meeting (MDT). At the MDT, recommendations will be made about what is required to treat your cancer. This team is made up of Surgeons, Oncologists (Cancer Doctors), Dermatologists, Radiologists, Pathologists and Specialist Nurses. This is held every Wednesday (excluding Bank Holidays).
This may involve: Further Surgery, Radiological Interventions, Oncology Guidance, and/or Follow-up.
From here an appointment will be made for you to discuss this plan with your treating Clinician, a member of the Skin Specialist Nurses will also be present to provide holistic support, you will be able to ask questions regarding your care at this point.
