What happens after the investigations have been completed?
Although we ensure investigations are completed and resulted in a timely manner, please note, it can take approximately two weeks after your biopsy for this to be reported.
Once all your initial investigations have been carried out and resulted, your case will be discussed at our Lung Multi-Disciplinary Team meeting (MDT), this takes place on a Thursday. You will be contacted by a secretary for either a face to face clinic appointment or an arranged telephone call, where we will discuss with you your investigation results, the outcome from the MDT meeting and the next steps; whether this be further planning or treatment information.
Please be aware further biomarker testing may be needed following your discussion and can take up to 3 weeks for these results to be available. This is not a delay in your treatment (if needed) but is essential for the finalisation of your treatment plan.
