These injuries can be painful and it is an anxious time coming into hospital following a fall.
The James Cook University Hospital Hip Fracture Unit is a dedicated ward onto which all patients with hip fractures are admitted.
The ward is home to a range of doctors, nurses and therapists, all with hip fracture care at the centre of their agenda.
Every patient admitted to the ward will be seen by a consultant surgeon, a consultant in elderly care medicine and a hip fracture specialist nurse, as well as numerous therapists and nursing staff. This is a team approach to optimising patient care.
A range of information for both patients and relatives is available – please feel free to contact us with any questions or any suggestions.
