We recommend watching this as soon as you receive your appointment details. This will give you time in case you need to make any alterations to your diet or start any new medications.
Following the information in this video, please speak to your GP or pharmacist if you believe you may need need any medication to help with your bowels.
We recommend:
- Peppermint oil capsules – (to help with gas)
- Macrogol – (to help improve stool frequency)
We may also offer you an enema to use in the department.
It is important that you are well hydrated and have regular bowel movements before coming to your appointment, or we may not be able to carry out your planning scan on the day.
A radiographer will be available on the day of your appointment to answer any further questions you may have. But if you have any problems accessing the video or need this information in another format please call us on 01642 850850 ext 58437.
