Why did you want to be an assistant practitioner?
I always found health care interesting. I saw how much of a difference nurses made in their patients’ lives, and how much of a rewarding career it was.
After years of working in this role, the feeling of helping your patients and the difference made is still so humbling.
What are your day to day tasks?
These include helping with our patients’ admission and assessments, taking bloods, catheterisation, cannulation and being responsible for neurological observations.
Most fulfilling part of your role?
The most fulfilling part of the job is being there for your patients and their families in their time of need. Also making their hospital stay easier for them, ensuring their care is of the highest standard to give them a positive experience.
