The aim of the Friends of the Friarage is to support the work of the Friarage Hospital and the health centres of Hambleton and Richmondshire in providing the best possible healthcare to every patient, above the standards that NHS funding alone allows.

Summary of role
Assist in the efficient running of the shop. The profits generated by the shop are used to support the work of the charity. The shop plays a significant role in the promotion of the image and work of the charity.
Description of tasks
To deal sensitively and politely with customers to the shop. Cash handling and registering purchases using the till. Assisting with keeping the shop clean and tidy and replenishing stock on the shelves.
Time commitment
Weekday shifts: 10am-12 noon; 12 noon – 2pm, 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm.
Weekend shifts: 10am-12 noon; 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 8pm.
2 hour shifts to be agreed between the volunteer and shop management.
Skills and qualifications
Friendly and helpful with good communication skills. Enthusiastic and open to giving and receiving feedback from shop management.
Training and support
Induction training on commencement of the role. Ongoing training and support will be given as required. Willingness to undertake mandatory training in accordance with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust requirements. Donning and doffing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
