Your Doctor / FCP Physiotherapist / Nurse Practitioner has referred you for provision of a wrist splint.
The referrer should have advised on how much they want you to wear the splint, mainly at night for Carpal Tunnel Symptoms.
You MUST NOT drive or operate machinery whilst wearing the splint and should endeavour not to allow the splint to get wet.
The splint supplied is reversible and should be set for the correct wrist, with the metal bar located on the palm side of your wrist.
The splint should fit comfortably and must not be too tight.
If you experience any skin irritation or problems with your fingers due to tightness of the splint please stop wearing the splint.
The splint may be hand washed and air-dried if necessary.
If you have any issues with the splint please call us on 01642 944682 and we will arrange an appointment for you to see a member of staff.
If the symptoms get worse or do not improve after 4 to 6 weeks of wearing the splint please contact the person who referred you for the splint.
