Macmillan Information & Support Centre

The Macmillan cancer support and information service operates from two centres which are located in the north entrance of The James Cook University Hospital and in The Sir Robert Ogden Centre at the Friarage Hospital.

The service was developed as a joint venture between Macmillan and the trust to ensure that people affected by cancer have access to good quality, comprehensive and appropriate information and support.

The service is currently working with the trust to support the implementation of holistic needs assessment for cancer patients and information prescriptions which will ensure patients have access not only to clinical information but also to information on a wide variety of other issues that can affect cancer patients along the cancer journey.

The service is also working with the trust to implement survivorship initiatives which will support and empower patients to move on after treatment and self-manage
