Teesside Cystic Fibrosis Centre delivers care to approximately 60 patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) from diagnosis until transition to adult services.

We are based at The James Cook University Hospital and cover a wide geographical area.

Outreach clinics are well established at the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton and the University Hospital of Hartlepool.

We also offer home visits, school visits, childminder visits and more.

All cystic fibrosis related hospital admissions occur at James Cook’s children and young people’s unit.

Teesside Cystic Fibrosis Service has developed over the past 20 years to reflect the evolving and challenging clinical advances in cystic fibrosis care.

Our philosophy of care is underpinned by best evidence based medicine for children and young people with cystic fibrosis.

This care is delivered in partnership with the patient and family in a friendly, caring environment by a specialist team with expert knowledge and skills that are required to provide excellent family-centred care.

Our aim is to provide children and young people with cystic fibrosis care closer to home. Our patients are given the opportunity to benefit from new therapeutic advances, therefore maintaining the best possible health.

This will ensure they participate as fully as possible in normal childhood activities and aspirations, including school, college and sports.
