Description
Voltage gated potassium channel (VGKC) antibodies are found in some cases of acquired neuromyotonia.
Indication
Acute or subacute symptoms of non-paraneoplastic limbic encephalitis including confusion/dementia, depression/anxiety and or seizures or hallucinations. Found in some cases of acquired neuromyotonia and Morvans syndrome.
Sample
Radioimmunassay antibodies block binding of radiolabelled a-dendrotoxin to membrane receptor preparations.
