These infections can increase the time it takes for patients to recover and lead to a longer stay in hospital or worse.
Because of this, one of the trust’s key priorities is to protect patients, visitors and staff from the risk of acquiring a healthcare associated infection.
There are stringent policies relating to MRSA, Clostridium difficile and other infections to help achieve this goal.
This is in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 which outlines the Code of Practice on the prevention and control of infections and related guidance.
Our compliance with these standards is reviewed by external organisations including integrated care boards and and the Care Quality Commission.
