CCTV surveillance at South Tees Hospitals:
helps prevent and detect crime against both people and property
assists in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting offenders relating to crime
ensures property belonging to the trust and its staff, visitors, patients and contractors is secure
CCTV at James Cook and the Friarage monitors areas such as car parks, public areas, reception areas and waiting rooms and consideration to staff and patient privacy is always given.
Visually impaired people who are visiting the trust may not be aware that we operate a CCTV system.
Staff must make sure that all visually impaired people are informed of this if they are attending an area where cameras are operating.
The trust’s security services, including the use of CCTV, are managed by Serco.
The ‘rust remains the data controller of this data and any disclosures to third parties such as the police, will only be done with the permission of the trust.
