What is speech and language therapy?
Speech and language therapists (SALT) provide life-improving treatment, support and care for adults who have acquired difficulties with communication or swallowing.
We work to maximise function, independence and quality of life by providing treatment programmes, advice and education. We work directly with patients and their carers and families as needed.
We have specialist speech and language therapists who help with:
- Voice disorders
- Head and neck cancer
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Brain injury
- Tracheostomy management
- Brain tumour
- Progressive neurological conditions
- Dysfluency
- Dementia
