Our nursing team comprises four IBD specialist nurses, Linda Jolly, Emma Botwright, Chloe Basford and Philippa Brown, who cover The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.
At James Cook at least one nurse will be available Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) 9am till 5pm. We hold two nurse led clinics, Monday morning and Thursday afternoon for the purposes of counselling for new treatments, newly diagnosed, relapses, recently discharged and review patients.
We also have a clinical pharmacist Leung Wu who holds a pharmacist-led clinic once a week for the purpose of counselling for new treatments.
Currently at the Friarage one nurse will be available at least once a week 9am till 5pm.
IBD nurse telephone advice line
Both sites have an IBD nurse telephone advice line with an answering machine service to provide direct access to one of our nurses for advice, triage, initiate treatment if required and requesting appropriate investigations. Voicemails can be left between 9am to 2pm from Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. We aim to return calls within the next working day.
