The ophthalmology research team is incorporated within the eye outpatients department at James Cook.
We consist of a dedicated team of consultants with specialties covering medical retina, surgical retina and cornea, a trial research nurse, a trial coordinator, a cross specialty research nurse, and dedicated optometry, technical and eye day unit staff.
We are currently involved in a number of trials, all of which are collaborative multi centre trials within the UK, European and worldwide sites.
We approach appropriate patients for participation in our studies from the vast number of outpatient and fast track clinics we run.
