Remembrance Garden and Armistice Day Events
In 2022 we built a remembrance garden which was opened during our Armistice day service by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire , Mrs Johanna Ropner.
Other awareness events
Special flag raising ceremonies will be held across our hospital group in honour of Armed Forces Day on Monday 23 June 2025 from 10am to 10.30am at the following locations:
- Veteran’s Garden, James Cook
- Friarage Hospital
- University Hospital of North Tees
- University Hospital of Hartlepool
Armed Forces coffee mornings
Our veteran and armed forces working group have launched veteran coffee mornings that are open to all veterans of any branch of the armed forces and reserves
The quarterly events are an opportunity to build a local network, find out more about support available in the local area and to shape how the hospital group can support the armed forces community going forward.
The events are also open to staff across University Hospitals Tees who have served or who are currently serving.

- Thursday 10 July, University Hospital of North Tees at 11am
