Remembrance Garden
In 2022 we built a remembrance garden which was opened during our Armistice day service by the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire , Mrs Johanna Ropner.

Armed Forces coffee events
Our veteran and armed forces working group have launched free armed forces coffee mornings which are open to all members of the armed forces community and their families.
They are an opportunity to build a local network, find out more about support available in the local area and to shape how our hospital group can support the armed forces community going forward.
The events are also open to staff across University Hospitals Tees who have served or who are currently serving.
The next event will be held:
- Wednesday 11 March 2026, 9am to 11.30am, main concourse, University Hospital of North Tees.
What to expect:
- Grab a free drink
- Build a supportive network
- Find out how we should clinically support you as a member of the Armed Forces Community
- Talk about NHS employment opportunities
There will also be the opportunity to speak to:
- 214 multi-role medical regiment – an Army Reserve unit in Middlesbrough who provide dedicated welfare and professional support to serving reservists and their families.
- Help for Heroes personnel including case workers and our own dedicated Help for Heroes nurse, Hannah Robertson
All future events will be listed on the South Tees Hospitals or North Tees and Hartlepool websites.
