The cardiothoracic division aims to provide the best possible treatments for patients based on the findings of sound research.
This involves taking part in clinical research studies with the intention of providing the most up to date care whilst developing a larger research profile. Some of these studies are part of collaborative multi-centre ventures, but many are our own studies.
The cardiac research team office is located on the top floor of the Red Shed at The James Cook University Hospital. We work Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 5pm (Wednesday until 4pm).
We screen patients on a daily basis by visiting the wards and outpatient departments and run daily clinics.
