What we do
We see and treat all orthopaedic conditions that may affect children and young people.
Our team includes three highly trained consultant orthopaedic surgeons, a specialist nurse and specialist physiotherapists.
We do not see back pain or spinal deformity, these should be referred directly to the spinal team.
Concerns about general delayed development should be assessed by a general paediatrician.

Outpatient clinic appointments are held at:
- Children’s outpatients, James Cook
- Rehabilitation department, James Cook
- Trauma outpatients, James Cook
- Children’s outpatients, Friarage Hospital
If you need to come into hospital for a surgical procedure this will be at James Cook, either through the paediatric surgical day unit or ward 22 – our children and young people’s surgical ward.
