We provide children’s services at both The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton.

At The James Cook University Hospital you will find:

Children's ward James Cook Hospital

  • Ward 21 – Children and young people’s medicine
  • Ward 22 – Children and young people’s trauma and surgery
  • The paediatric day unit – open 8am – 9pm
  • Paediatric intensive care (PICU) and children’s high dependency unit (HDU)
  • Children’s outpatient department
  • Children’s community nursing team
  • Children’s specialist nurses – diabetes, cystic fibrosis, respiratory, epilepsy and endocrine
  • There are a number of parent and child parking spaces on site including some in the v2 car park

At the Friarage Hospital you will find:

Community clinics

We also hold clinics at other locations such as community hospitals and provide community child health clinics at West Lane Hospital in Middlesbrough.
