Home sleep testing is a test that patients take home with them and is designed to monitor blood oxygen and heart rate. It assesses breathing when a patient is asleep.
A healthcare science assistant prepares and hands out equipment in a clinic. This device is taken home and worn overnight. Once the equipment is handed back, the healthcare science assistant downloads the results from the device so that a clinical scientist can review them.
Clinical scientists then review the results of the study and send these on to a sleep consultant.
