About the service
We cover both malignant and non-malignant haematology, we are made up of a team of:

- Cancer care co-ordinators.
The service provides care pre, during and after treatment and also patients who are actively monitored. Prehabilitation will be beneficial at any stage of your diagnosis and below is some haematology specific information to compliment the core information.

Eating Well
During your cancer journey you may become neutropenic. This is where you have low numbers of neutrophils, which are a type of white blood cell that help fight infection.
Due to this we recommend a neutropenic diet. This can be pre, during and after treatment. Information can be found below.
Physical activity
It is recommended to remain active as this can improve outcomes and recovery. Blood cancers such as myeloma can affect your bones and make you more susceptible to fractures.
In myeloma, we recommend low impact activity, and no heavy lifting, especially above the head. More information regarding myeloma and exercise can be found below.
Prehabilitation for transplant
We are currently running a trial for patients who are undergoing a transplant.
