Why did you want to be a clinical sister?
To provide safe and high quality care and improve patients’ health and wellbeing as well as promoting service improvement through leadership and accountability.
What are your day-to-day tasks?
Leadership as a band 6 nurse, coordinating the ward and working with an multi-disciplinary team to achieve best outcomes for patients and their families. Applying a civility approach to junior staff, audits and applying key performance indicators to improve patient experience.
Most fulfilling part of the job?
Following a patient’s journey, saving their lives and nursing them back to their baseline and working with all the excellent multidisciplinary teams to achieve this goal.

To have a challenging job that changes and one that I feel has a positive impact on those around me.
What are your day-to-day tasks?
- Coordinating patient care and flow on a busy ENT (ear, nose and throat) and plastics ward
- Supporting staff
- Helping students increase their knowledge and skills

Helping people to develop and supporting patients to have a positive journey.
