How long have you been in your pharmacy role?
Since qualifying as a pharmacy technician in 2010, I have worked in a number of trusts throughout the north east, both in clinical and non-clinical roles.
It became very quickly clear that my greatest interests lay in the technical aspects of pharmacy – particularly how we can utilise IT to automate mundane processes, reduce errors, improve efficiency and ultimately make patient stays safer.
Tell us something about your role people might not be aware of…
I’m truly passionate about working towards an NHS where every system speaks to and can understand every other system, where data flows seamlessly and in real time around the trust but also between the trust and other healthcare providers.
The solutions that the trust have recently invested in will allow for this functionality in the future, and I am really excited to be a part of the development and implementation of these systems, which ultimately will improve patient care and patient safety.
